Answer Engine Optimisation. Structure your content so AI systems can find it, parse it, and cite it. Monitor how often ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini mention your brand. Adjust. Repeat.
The mental model is SEO. There is an algorithm. The algorithm decides who gets recommended. You optimise your content to influence the algorithm's decision. You track your position. You try to improve it.
The channel changed. The logic did not.
AEO practitioners are applying proven thinking to a new problem — and some of the research is genuinely useful. But the framework was designed for a world where ranking is the mechanism. In the agent world, it is not.
